Disaster

Like a disaster waiting to happen.

How can one put up such a billboard along a highway.

I’m lucky that I didn’t hit other motorists.

So when I leave for work at 7am, I had already written a lovey-note and paste it in his wallet.

And since Joe didn’t call/sms/respond to my note, I send him an e-mailSlide1

That’s life

Like, coming back from work, wait for each other.

Decide what to eat, Decide where to go, Decide who should do which chore, Decide what grocery to get, Decide on ice cream flavours. Hang out with close friends, Go to Ikea, Go to cinema, Attend family events. So this is life eh.

really fragile

A call from my mum saying “Ah Cheng” had an accident last night.

Ah Cheng had accident, somewhere in KL. Very early in the morning.

An hour later, mum called again. Okay we’re coming back to the city. For that they had just reach home in the morning and now my mum and the younger brother is rushing back here.  They reach my place safely, around 2am. And I hoped things would get better.

The next morning the three of us went to the hospital, and were directed to 5th floor.

Ah Cheng is a close friend of my family. Ah Cheng is 22 years old, and despite his young age, he knows of tough world and life. He’s been working part time for my dad since form 3 and right after high school, he decided to pursue it full time. And of course, he’s my younger brother’s close friend.

He’s lying on bed13. Coma, lifeless and depending on life support. His dad saw us walking in and he quickly spoke to his lifeless son,

Wake up, your lady boss is here, she’ll cook your favourite assam laksa. He did not respond.

My mum held his hands, and firmly she said, ok wake up let’s go home. Wake up now. You still have a lot to do. Wake up. Let’s go home.

Everyone can’t hold their tears.

Then the doctor came in.

Siapa keluarga dia?

The father looked up with a slight nod.

And the doctor walks off. Everyone shouted for Ah Cheng’s name.

My mum frantically called up her few of her Klang valley friends.

I need to speak to the sifu,

She asked everyone there to take care of Ah Cheng’s parents. She urged me to drive her to this medium. A friend of hers’ managed to get an immediate slot with this lady shaman. My mum wrote down the details she need and advised Ah Cheng’s dad to hang on. We’ll be back real soon.

So I drive my mum to somewhere in Selayang.

Upon reading Ah Cheng’s date of birth, the shaman shakes her head. We’ve not told her what happened yet, and the shaman continues, this boy is a very good person. He is having a very bad pain in his head now.

Then my mum told her what happened.

And she gave my mum some talisman. Try to call his soul back. Try your best and god bless. And immediately I drove my mum back.

Both of us didn’t speak much in the car. Wild thoughts haunts us and we were hoping for miracle thou knowing the reality is hitting us hard.

My mum’s phone rang.
She shouted !
In the  phone, my brother was crying, and repeatedly saying he is gone. He is gone.

It felt as if time stopped. Everything was so quiet.

Ah Cheng died.

Gone.

By the time we reach his ward, there’s the most painful cry and heart breaking calls for Ah Cheng.  Everyone there is calling for him.

His mum kept asking why. His dad turn pale and cried in a corner.

Ah Cheng is gone.

I cannot write any further.

We’ll remember you.

Good bye to you Ah Cheng. May you rest in peace.
